Privacy Policy                                                                                                             Last updated: July 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how WalkAway ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use our mobile application.

Summary :

WalkAway is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not operate a backend server for the App, and we do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data with anyone.

Information We Do Not Collect / WalkAway does not collect or transmit:

Camera frames or images captured while scanning QR codes

• The contents of QR codes or NFC tags you scan or register

• Your location

• Alarm schedules, dismissal history, or wake-up logs

• Account information, since the App does not require account creation or sign-in

• Analytics, advertising identifiers, or usage tracking data

Information Stored On Your Device

To provide its features, WalkAway stores the following information locally on your device only:

Alarm schedules and settings you create

• Registered QR codes and NFC tags used to dismiss alarms

• Alarm dismissal history and wake-up check-in records

• App preferences (such as theme and onboarding status)

This data is stored using your device's local storage and is never uploaded to us or any third party. It stays on your device unless you delete the App or clear its data, and it is not transferred if you switch devices unless your device's own backup system (e.g., iCloud or Android backup) includes app data.

Permissions We Request

WalkAway may request the following device permissions, used solely to provide the App's core functionality:

Camera — to scan QR codes when creating or dismissing an alarm. Camera frames are processed on-device in real time and are not saved or transmitted.

• NFC — to read NFC tags you register and later tap to dismiss an alarm.

• Notifications — to alert you when an alarm is scheduled to ring and to keep it ringing until dismissed.

• Exact Alarms / Scheduling (Android) — to ensure alarms trigger reliably at the exact time you set.

• Full-Screen Intent / Foreground Service (Android) — to display the ringing alarm screen and keep alarm audio playing reliably.

You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in your device's system settings. Revoking a permission may prevent related features (such as alarm dismissal by QR/NFC or timely alarm delivery) from working correctly.

Children's Privacy

WalkAway does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all. The App is not directed at collecting data from children under any age.

Third-Party Services

WalkAway does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs that collect personal data. If this changes in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly before such a change takes effect.

Data Security

Because your data stays on your device, its security is tied to your device's own security (passcode, encryption, etc.). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a device passcode or biometric lock.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
