In Aasim's words

The interesting part of a system isn't the launch, it's month eight, when someone who wasn't in the original conversation has to change it. So I optimise for software that can be operated: schemas that reflect the domain, APIs that fail in ways you can read, and infrastructure that a small team can actually run. Most of that means choosing the boring option on purpose and spending the saved complexity where the product is genuinely hard.

What Aasim works on

Areas of focus.

Web applications

Next.js and React front ends built for real content and real data, not just the happy path in a design file.

APIs and data modelling

Node.js and TypeScript services over PostgreSQL and MongoDB, with the domain modelled before the endpoints are written.

Cloud and deployment

Containerised deploys, CI pipelines, and environments configured so a release is a routine event rather than a risk.

Reliability and operations

Logging, health checks, and failure handling that make a production problem diagnosable instead of a guess.
